Great products, we equip our ROG Survival Series adventure trailers with Lexivon splitting and chopping axes…you’ve always got to be prepared for anything!! Lexivon axes are well balanced, ergonomically easy to handle, and quality made! We’ve been using them exclusively for the past 4 years with no issues!

A couple of the reviews had me worried, but so far this axe has worked well for splitting firewood for my outdoor fireplace. I've used it a couple dozen times without issue so far. Splits well, though it could use some sharpening.

Brilliant axe for the job

I weighed mine and it weighs 5.62 lb without the cover case. It seems a little heavy for its size however I had no problem with even using it one hand and I really couldn't say anything bad about the axe, it's a great ax for splitting.

I really liked the axe, but had an issue with mine. The customer service was extremely fast and resolved the issue in no time!

The axe`s quality is super good but it too heavy for women like me. It`s too much work to return it. So I will keep it just in case. But if you are looking for something light weighted, don`t get this one!

This ax is excellent. The quality and workmanship is much better than I had hoped.

I've used many different axes and hatchet and I haven't come across an axe like Lexivon produces. I like the heavyweight polymer handle, which looks like it could easily endure an overswing, which in the past has meant replacing the wood handle. The axe head is meant to sustain a solid day's workload. All-in-all a darn good axe for the asking price. I want to look at their other products they offer as well.

Looks to be a very well made product. I will be using it in my garden on Friday to remove tree stumps.

This was a perfect buy for wood for the fireplace. Hefty weight, sharp blade, nice protective cover. Best buy for the price!

First of all, I am a 66 year old woman and do a lot of yard work on our 1 acre micro-farm. I used to use an axe as young girl and so I do have something to compare this axe to. I love the way it handles, the ergo design and the material that the blade is made of (mine was not dull). This is a tool that will do the work for you. It is easy to get accurate strikes with and was not physically taxing to use (like old school axes can be). I'm not sure how one can break a handle on the third strike (improper use perhaps?) as was mentioned in another review. This is a good quality tool at a great price. It does the job. I highly recommend it.

this ax is heavier then i though but it does the trick. the design is super rad and it chops stuff pretty easily. I like that it comes with a face plate holder and locking mechanism. should last way longer then my older axes with wooden handles

I really liked how light the axe was, but since the handle is plastic, and hollow, the head broke off on our very first camping trip. It might be good for kindling, but not for anything bigger than that. Returned.

Lightweight handle, easy to generate blade speed. Size, weight, and blade cover all allow for easy packing and remote use.

Buyer be ware! Piece of garbage, broke in half the first use! Too long since purchase so I`m just out the money for this junk! Should have bought the Fiskar it wouldn`t have broke so easily And they support their customers.

The Lexivon V28 Chopping Axe feels quite nice to hold, the weight is pretty much entirely in the head due to the fiberglass composite construction of the handle.No scale on hand to do a weighing of the axe but description lists at 3lbs (2.98lb) blade weight, cutting edge is 3.5" in length, and the length of the axe is exactly 28" as described.The rubberized texture in key parts of the handle is appreciated for extra grip say, if you have wet hands due to weather or effort. There is even a hole cut into the widened base of the handle, you could use this to tie on some cordura for added grip or to hav some extra rope on hand if needed, or it can simply be used to hang by it on a wall when not in use.Product comes with a blade protector that has its own carry handle, and a small slidable toggle to lock the protector in place, which is a nice inclusion overall.The axe arrived with a small pit/imperfection somewhat close to the blade edge, and the appearance of the seam sealing around the axehead of the fiberglass handle is a bit concerning, but could very well just be an aesthetic issue.There are warnings on the packaging and painted right into the handle to NOT use another tool such as a hammer, to strike the backend of this axehead to apply more driving force. This is not the axe you are looking for, if that is the type of tool you require for a job.Will update my review once I have put the axe through its paces, looks good, feels satisfying to hold and swing. Overall I would recommend this axe if you are looking for a good new Chopping Axe.

DO NOT BUY.The axe exploded on the fifth log, I will never trust a non-wooden handle axe again.

This axe broke before a single cord of wood could be chopped and not only that, the axe head flew off and almost hit someone.

Very nice axe does some serious cutting it wasn't very sharp when i got it but a few passes with a file holds a sdge good and comfortable grip and handle

Update: After the return of the axe (full refund), the seller contacted me to learn more about how the axe failed. They take their products very seriously and gifted me a replacement axe free of charge. The axe arrived just two days after the call.The new axe works wonderfully. I’d give it 4 stars, but with customer service like that anything short of 5 would be petty!Thank you Lexivon. Felt great, for five minutes until the head assembly snapped right off. :(Before you ask, I’m very experienced and did not hit the handle on the wood. Just a hard clean strike and pop, snapped! Right through the meat of the handle below the head.

Really great product

Tried to split some fire wood and broke axe with 3 swings. Wouldn`t recommend to anyone. Cheap product. If it would let me put less than a star I would.

Works great nice cover for the head

Although I wanted an all purpose axe, not just a splitting axe, this is all I've used it for so far. Nice balance, good grip on handle.

I was disappointed by this axe and it's poor build quality, less than 10 swings in it busted. Would not recommend this product. I have a fiskars X27 with thousands of strikes and no issues.

We purchased this for disaster preparedness and to cut wood for our firepit and fireplace. Thankfully we haven't needed it yet but it is incredibly well made and comes with safety options to keep you safe while allowing you to easily cut wood for lifetime use.

Far lighter than I thought, even though it's a 6-lb head. Wonderful heft and chopping ability. Just what I needed.

Lightweight and easy to swing

Just a super tool for the price! Did the job on above ground tree roots. My 13yo son was able to wield it and thoroughly enjoyed himself. Weight and balance perhaps not top of the line. But all things considered...for $30 how can you beat this choice!?!?I’m very pleased with the piece.

We needed a new axe forhurricane season and normalfalling of tree branches.

I'll start off saying it's a well balanced and easy to use axe. It was easy to hit the same mark well and split through some knotted ash logs. The head is a great weight and size but like what alot of other people say is the handle. It's nocr and light weight but it broke so easily, just after about 1 hour into using it, the head went flying. Like u said it's a good axe they just need to work on the handle to reinforce it some how to make it more durable.

I use the axe for splitting kindling and larger rounds of firewood. Wanted an axe head/handle that is all in one piece. The older style axes with wooden handles and metal axe head can be a bit of a hazard if the axe head starts working its way off the handle over time. This axe set-up is one less thing to worry about!

Excellent ax! Lightweight, well balanced & splits wood like splitting thru butter.

Splits wood so easily that my husband won’t stop using it. Our garage is overflowing with firewood now. He can’t get over the difference it’s made versus the electric saw he was previously using.

What a piece of junk. Don't waste your money. Broke within a month of ownership and I would never buy another one of their products again. Still have cords of wood to split do yourself a favor and get a real wooden handled axe instead of this fiber glass garbage

Beyond expectations

I broke my husband's new Chopping Axe on a tree root ( a rock was under the root). This ax was my Christmas present to him and it turns out this Chopping Axe is a much better ax and better priced as well. The truth be told, it fits my hands better.

the handle is more oval and sturdier than my regular axe (with wooden handle) so it handles differently. But it does the job well.
